Burn The Map Has Officially Been Submitted to Publishers

There are moments in every author's journey that feel less like checking off another task and more like standing at the edge of a cliff before taking a leap of faith.

Today is one of those moments.

I'm excited to share that Burn The Map: Life Beyond What You Were Given has officially been submitted to publishers for consideration.

Unlike my novels, Burn The Map is deeply personal. It tells the story behind the stories—the experiences, hardships, victories, and defining moments that shaped not only who I am as a writer, but who I am as a person. It's a memoir about rebuilding a life after losing nearly everything, discovering that healing isn't a destination, and learning that sometimes the map you've been following was never meant for you in the first place.

The title carries a message that has become central to my own life:

You don't have to live according to the path someone else designed for you. Sometimes the greatest act of courage is burning the map you've been handed and creating your own.

This manuscript represents years of reflection, countless revisions, and an incredible amount of vulnerability. Writing fiction allows me to explore emotions through characters. Writing this memoir required me to stand in front of readers exactly as I am—with my successes, failures, fears, and hope all on the same page.

While there are no guarantees in publishing, I believe every manuscript deserves the chance to find the home where it belongs. Whether that journey ends with one publisher or another, I know this story is one I was meant to tell.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me throughout this incredible year. From the readers who embraced Inheritance of Silence, to those eagerly awaiting House of Windows, to everyone who has shared a review, attended a signing, sent an encouraging message, or simply believed in my work—you've helped make moments like this possible.

Publishing is often described as a marathon rather than a sprint, and this year has certainly proven that. Every submission, every conversation, every opportunity is another step forward.

Now, the waiting begins.

I'll continue to keep everyone updated as I hear back from publishers and as this next chapter unfolds. No matter what happens, I'm incredibly proud of this manuscript and grateful for the opportunity to share such an important part of my life.

Thank you for continuing to walk this journey with me.

Here's to new beginnings, new opportunities, and sometimes... to having the courage to burn the map.
