Two Storytrade Book Award Nominations for "Inheritance of Silence"

There are moments in life that feel almost impossible to put into words — moments where gratitude, disbelief, excitement, and reflection all collide at once.

Today is one of those moments.

I am incredibly honored to announce that my debut novel, Inheritance of Silence, has officially been nominated for two Storytrade Book Awards:

  • Contemporary Fiction
  • Storytrade Book Prodigy Award for Best Debut

As a first-time novelist, this recognition means more to me than I can adequately express.

Inheritance of Silence was never just a book to me. It was a story born from pain, survival, resilience, identity, healing, and the complicated journey of reclaiming your voice after enduring silence for far too long. Writing this novel required vulnerability in ways I never anticipated. It demanded honesty. It demanded courage. And at times, it demanded that I revisit emotions and experiences I once tried desperately to bury.

To now see this story being recognized alongside other incredible works in contemporary fiction is both humbling and surreal.

These nominations arrive during an already unforgettable chapter in my life and career as an author. Since the release of Inheritance of Silence, I have witnessed support that has exceeded every expectation I ever had for this journey. From readers sharing emotional reactions, to livestream discussions, interviews, pre-orders, social media support, book club conversations, and growing media attention — every message, review, comment, and shared post has helped propel this story further than I ever imagined possible.

This recognition also follows my recent honor of being named a finalist for the 2026 International Impact Book Awards Author of the Year in Contemporary Fiction, making this season of my life feel especially meaningful.

As an independent creative and emerging author, there are countless moments where self-doubt tries to creep in. You wonder whether your story matters. You wonder whether anyone will truly connect with the words you spent countless nights writing. You wonder whether taking the risk was worth it.

Moments like this remind me that stories matter.

Truth matters.

Vulnerability matters.

And perhaps most importantly, people connect most deeply with authenticity.

I want to sincerely thank every single person who has supported me throughout this journey:

  •  Readers
  •  Friends
  •  Family
  •  Fellow writers
  •  Reviewers
  •  Bloggers
  •  Livestream audiences
  •  The literary community
  •  Everyone who believed in me before I fully believed in myself

Your encouragement has helped carry Inheritance of Silence farther than I ever could have accomplished alone.

This book began as a deeply personal project. It has now become part of a much larger conversation about resilience, identity, healing, and hope. That is something I will never take for granted.

No matter what happens next, being nominated for both the Storytrade Contemporary Fiction Award and the Storytrade Book Prodigy Best Debut Award is already an extraordinary honor.

And the truth is…

This is only the beginning.
