A Weekend to Remember: Author Launch Reception & Central Alabama PrideFest 2026

This past weekend was one I will never forget.

From celebrating the official launch of Inheritance of Silence at Birmingham's historic B&A Warehouse to meeting readers, authors, and members of the LGBTQ+ community at Central Alabama PrideFest, the experience was both humbling and inspiring.

Author Launch Reception at B&A Warehouse

On Saturday, I had the privilege of hosting my Author Launch Reception in the Bottle Room at B&A Warehouse in Birmingham, Alabama. Surrounded by friends, family, readers, and supporters, I had the opportunity to celebrate the publication of Inheritance of Silence and reflect on the journey that brought me here.

Writing this novel was not simply an act of storytelling—it was an act of perseverance. There were moments throughout the process when the obstacles seemed overwhelming, but seeing so many people gather to celebrate this achievement reminded me why stories matter and why we continue to share them.

The reception provided an opportunity to discuss the inspiration behind the novel, sign books, answer questions, and connect with readers who have already begun their journey through the pages of Inheritance of Silence. The support shown by everyone who attended was truly incredible.

Central Alabama PrideFest 2026

On Sunday, the celebration continued at Central Alabama PrideFest.

As both an author and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, participating in PrideFest was an honor. Throughout the day, I had the opportunity to meet readers from across Alabama and beyond, discuss Inheritance of Silence, sign books, and share conversations about representation, identity, resilience, and the importance of authentic storytelling.

One of the most rewarding aspects of PrideFest was hearing personal stories from attendees who connected with the themes explored in my work. Those conversations serve as a powerful reminder that literature has the ability to create understanding, foster empathy, and help people feel seen.

The energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community throughout the festival were nothing short of remarkable.

Looking Ahead

This weekend represented far more than two successful events. It marked a significant milestone in my author journey.

Only a short time ago, Inheritance of Silence existed solely as an idea. Today, it is reaching readers around the world, earning award recognition, and creating meaningful conversations in communities that matter deeply to me.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who attended the Author Launch Reception, stopped by my table at PrideFest, purchased a copy of the book, shared words of encouragement, or simply took the time to say hello.

Thank you for believing in this story.

The journey is only beginning.
