The Season Between Milestones

Publishing a book teaches you something most people never see from the outside.

There are the big moments everyone celebrates—the cover reveal, the publication date, the awards, the book signings, the interviews. Those moments are exciting, and they deserve to be celebrated.

But there is another side to the journey.

It's the waiting.

The emails.

The revisions.

The proof approvals.

The distribution conversations.

The marketing plans.

The countless hours spent building a platform while trying to write the next story.

Right now, I'm living in that space between milestones.

Inheritance of Silence continues to open doors I never imagined would be possible. Seeing the novel reach readers, receive award recognition, and become part of conversations about identity, family, resilience, and belonging has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

At the same time, work continues behind the scenes on House of Windows as we move through the final stages of preparation for publication.

Like many authors, I've learned that publishing is rarely a straight line. It requires patience, persistence, and an unwavering belief in the stories you're telling. Some days feel like tremendous progress. Other days feel like standing still. The truth is that both are part of the process.

What keeps me moving forward is knowing that every challenge, every revision, every difficult conversation, and every delay ultimately serves a greater purpose: putting the strongest possible book into readers' hands.

Beyond House of Windows, I'm also continuing work on future projects, including Burn The Map and several stories that expand the world of Inheritance of Silence. Each manuscript allows me to explore what matters most to me as a writer—humanity.

Not perfection.

Not politics.

Not trends.

Humanity.

The complicated, messy, beautiful reality of people trying to find their place in the world.

As many of you know, my writing is deeply influenced by lived experiences, personal growth, adversity, recovery, and the belief that our stories have the power to connect us. Whether I'm writing fiction or sharing pieces of my own journey, that mission remains the same.

Over the coming months, I'll be sharing more updates, behind-the-scenes content, event announcements, and progress reports as these projects continue to develop.

To everyone who has purchased a book, attended an event, joined the mailing list, shared a post, left a review, or simply offered words of encouragement—thank you.

Authors may write the stories, but readers give them life.

The journey continues, and I'm grateful you're traveling it with me.
